Onyx Behavioral Healthcare is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs and strives to provide safe and affordable housing for adults with a mental illness. Onyx caters to adult ambulatory residents who are not in need of skilled nursing care, but who need some oversight and assistance with their day-to-day affairs.

Most Onyx residents are able to perform activities of daily living with minimal assistance from our caring staff, which encourages all residents to be as independent as possible. Onyx staff are truly dedicated to the well-being of all our residents, and are encouraged by management to:

  • Adults 18 and over

  • Ambulatory

  • Does not require skilled nursing care

  • Free from communicable diseases

  • History of psychiatric illness

Onyx Behavioral Healthcare offers housing to individuals who are private pay, SSA, SSI, and SSD recipients.
